The price of the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro has now fallen below the $1,000 mark. The sixth-generation model with 128GB of storage is currently available at an all-time low price of $999, down from its original price of $1,099, representing a nine percent discount. This offer is exclusively for the Space Gray variant, while the Silver model is available for $1,049.
Apple’s sixth-generation iPad Pro 12.9-inch, released in 2022, received a commendable score of 87 in our review, despite not featuring significant upgrades. The most notable change was the transition from the M1 to the M2 chip, resulting in a 52 percent increase in GPU performance with a score of 32,834. The M2 chip also introduced the capability to record 4K resolution video in ProRes at 30 frames per second and introduced Hover, allowing interaction with certain elements when your pencil is 12mm above the screen.
In terms of features, the 12.9-inch model is nearly identical to the iPad Pro 11-inch, differing primarily in size and the presence of a Liquid Retina XDR display, as opposed to a standard one. Despite these differences, the 12.9-inch model is priced only slightly higher, with a nine percent discount reducing its price from $799 to $729. According to reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s 2024 iPad Pro may come equipped with an M3 chip and an OLED display, among other enhancements.
