Bard initially gained access to YouTube data in September, integrating with various Google products like Docs, Maps, Lens, Flights, and Hotels. However, it couldn’t analyze a video’s content or respond to detailed questions about it. Google implemented this update in response to users expressing a desire for more profound engagement with YouTube videos. The company mentioned that these changes represent the “first steps in Bard’s ability to understand YouTube videos,” suggesting the potential for further advancements in video analysis technology.
