Firstly, the standard iPhone 15 and its larger counterpart, the iPhone 15 Plus, are rumored to do away with the traditional notch. Instead, they might adopt the Dynamic Island – a unique pill-shaped design that was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro, as noted by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. Meanwhile, the premium models, iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, are set to sport an entirely revamped design. They might employ the low-injection pressure over-molding (LIPO) technique to achieve narrower bezels, reducing the thickness from 2.2mm to just 1.5mm. This advanced technique was first implemented in the Apple Watch Series 7.
Additionally, one of the most talked-about changes is the potential replacement of the lightning charger with a USB-C port. This switch could make life easier by standardizing charging cables. While this shift might be on the horizon for Apple, there’s an external push as well. The European Union has mandated that starting in 2024, all smartphones and tablets sold within its territory must support USB-C charging.
