A remastered edition of The Last Of Us Part 2 is set to launch on the PlayStation 5 in January, as revealed by a leaked trailer that was later confirmed by Sony. The enhanced version of the popular post-apocalyptic zombie adventure will hit the platform on January 19, 2024. It promises improved loading times, 4K graphics in the console’s Fidelity mode, and seamless integration with the PS5’s new DualSense wireless controller. Insider Gaming and various leakers on X were the first to report on the remastered version.
Beyond enhancing the overall gaming experience, the updated version will introduce “No Return,” a novel rogue-like survival mode enabling players to “navigate [their] journey through a series of randomized encounters.” It also allows players to assume the roles of unlockable characters never before featured in the franchise. The game will facilitate global leaderboard competition among players.
Furthermore, the remastered edition incorporates early iterations of three new levels absent in the original game. Additionally, it features recorded commentary throughout the game’s cutscenes from director Neil Druckmann, narrative lead Halley Gross, and actors Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, and Laura Bailey.
