Microsoft

Microsoft has announced a significant change to Windows PC keyboards, introducing a dedicated Copilot AI key. This marks the first substantial alteration to the Windows PC keyboard in almost three decades, according to Microsoft. Similar to how the Windows key quickly opens the Windows Start menu, the Copilot key is designed to instantly summon Microsoft’s AI companion for various tasks.

The introduction of the Copilot key reflects Microsoft’s emphasis on integrating AI into the Windows experience. Microsoft considers this key as “another transformative moment in our journey with Windows where Copilot will be the entry point into the world of AI on the PC.”

The Copilot key is expected to be featured in new PCs arriving in Spring, with more details likely to be revealed during CES 2024. Additionally, it will be incorporated into future Surface devices. This move signifies Microsoft’s recognition of Copilot as an essential element of Windows’ future, suggesting that it could become as integral to the user experience as the Start Menu. It highlights the company’s commitment to incorporating AI seamlessly into the Windows platform.
