It’s no secret that Samsung traditionally unveils its latest range of Galaxy smartphones at the onset of each year. As the highly anticipated first Unpacked event of 2024 approaches in a matter of weeks, the rumor mill is abuzz, and reliable leaks are beginning to illuminate the likely offerings from the Korean manufacturer.
Accompanied by a countdown pointing to the forthcoming Unpacked event on January 17, renowned leaker Evan Blass has shared a purported spec sheet detailing the components of the Galaxy S24 lineup. It’s no surprise that Samsung is expected to present three Galaxy models: the standard variant, an S24+, and an S24 Ultra. All three are anticipated to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, at least in the US, Canada, and China (while those elsewhere may have to settle for the company’s Exynos 2400, as highlighted by The Verge).
The standard Galaxy S24 is projected to feature a 6.2-inch AMOLED 2x FHD display, accompanied by a 50MP main camera capable of recording videos in up to 8K resolution. According to the leak, Samsung is poised to provide Space Zoom of up to 30x and dual telephoto zoom of up to 3x in the Galaxy S24. The device is expected to boast 8GB of RAM and internal storage options of 128GB and 256GB. Additionally, users may enjoy the convenience of charging the 4,000mAh battery to 50 percent capacity in just 30 minutes.

According to the leaked spec sheet, the S24+ is anticipated to share the same camera system as the base model, with its primary enhancement lying in the display department—a 6.7-inch AMOLED 2x QHD+ panel. The S24+ is expected to feature a larger 4,900mAh battery, allowing for a rapid charge to 65 percent capacity within half an hour. Additionally, an upgrade to 12GB of RAM and internal storage options of 256GB and 512GB is likely.
In contrast to the other two models, both equipped with Armor Aluminum 2.0 casing, the S24 Ultra may boast a titanium body. While maintaining similar RAM and storage configurations to the S24+, the Ultra is poised to showcase a significantly superior camera system, featuring a 200MP main lens, 10x quad telephoto, and an impressive 100x Space Zoom. The AMOLED 2x QHD+ display is expected to measure 6.8 inches, and the battery is projected to be slightly larger than that of the S24+ at 5,000mAh.
All three models are anticipated to offer displays with a remarkable brightness of up to 2,600 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even in bright sunlight. IP68 water resistance is expected across the board, with the S24 Ultra likely to stand out as the only model featuring a built-in S Pen.
The designs of the S24 lineup, as hinted at by the spec sheet, appear to closely resemble those of the S23 series. However, earlier reports have suggested a notable distinction for the S24 Ultra, featuring a fully flat screen.
While the leaks don’t indicate any groundbreaking design changes or significant spec upgrades for the Samsung S24 lineup, there is anticipation surrounding the integration of Samsung’s Gauss generative AI system into these devices. Notably, there are indications that the GAI processes might be executed entirely on the device, potentially eliminating the need for cloud access. The forthcoming Snapdragon chipset is expected to contribute to this capability, enhancing the overall performance and efficiency of the AI system.
